To spread the Word of God and to bring all closer to Christ, our Lord, God, and Savior through the Orthodox Faith established by the Apostles over two millennia ago.

The mission of St. Nicholas Orthodox parish is to give glory to God in the greater Akron area.  Through the Orthodox Church in America and through our worship and life together as a community, we attempt to continue Christ’s mission to transform the world around us by bringing it to God.  We will do this:

  • Through the learning and teaching of God’s statutes;
  • By inspiring our faithful to spread the fullness of the Apostolic Orthodox Catholic Faith;
  • By reaching out in faith, hope, and love to all who are seeking the Kingdom of God;
  • By inviting all to “come and see”;
  • By being sensitive to the spiritual, physical, and material needs of all and responding within the areas of our capabilities as a living, vital, and loving Orthodox community; and, finally,

By attempting to make ourselves and our properties true reflections of God’s glory rather than our own so that all is built up into the fullness of the stature of Christ and His Church and may be seen in us.
